Maxime Jongen
Biography
Maxime Jongen is a PhD researcher for the Chair in Sustainable Engineering.
Specialising in the application of machine learning to energy systems, he holds a Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering with a focus on energy. His work explores the use of advanced deep learning techniques designed for graph-structured data applied to power systems to accelerate analysis and optimisation, to both support daily operational decisions and enable large-scale simulation of power system behaviour under varying consumption patterns and different policy scenarios.
He has professional experience in a large-scale industrial environment, where he led projects focused on the design and implementation of mechanical systems, driven by product evolution, quality, safety, and performance requirements. In parallel, he worked as a computer vision engineer, designing and developing an in-house system from scratch for production lines.
