Inclusive Shared Mobility

Because mobility should be a right for all, the Inclusive Shared Mobility project promotes shared mobility as a sustainable solution, through an innovative, needs-based, and community-driven financing model.  

In urban contexts where limited public transport options and the high cost of private vehicle ownership reinforce poverty and exclusion, shared mobility can provide a sustainable, cost effective, space efficient solution.  

The team explores the potential of shared mobility in those contexts, piloting a needs based, community driven financing model in three social housing-neighbourhoods in the city of Mechelen. The Inclusive Shared Mobility project’s goal is simple: convince users and donors that shared mobility is for everyone, and can be developed as a real tool for equity and climate action.
